George J. Michell: Accused of Sexual Misconduct

George J. Michell

In June 2003, Fr. George J. Michell was placed on administrative leave in response to a complaint of “inappropriate conduct.” Fr. Michell was eventually reinstated and has since retired from his position as pastor of St. Patrick’s in Southold, New York. As of 2014, he was listed a Pastor Emeritus at St. Patrick’s.

Fr. George J. Michell was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Rockville Centre in 1964 and worked at the following locations:

  • 1968-1976: Holy Spirit, New Hyde Park, NY

  • 1986-1995: Christ the King, Commack, NY
  • 1996-2010: St. Patrick’s, Southold, NY
  • 2011-2013: Unknown
  • 2014-2017: Retired

Fr. George J. Michell is believed to be residing at the Saint Pius X Residence in Amityville, New York.
