One of the nation’s premier law firms representing survivors of child sexual abuse by Catholic clergy and other institutions for 35+ years, Jeff Anderson and Associates has represented and advocated for thousands of victims of childhood sexual abuse.
Our firm pioneered the use of civil litigation to seek justice for survivors of child sexual assault and has tirelessly fought for survivor rights, for the disclosure of secret perpetrator identities and files held by offending institutions, and for a safer world for our children. We have a reputation for being the best at what we do, and that begins and ends with our ability to support, protect and guide survivors along their journey towards justice and healing.
Beginning January 1, 2020, the California Child Victims Act will temporarily lift the statute of limitations on child sexual assault, allowing survivors to take legal action. This new law gives survivors the chance to break through the silence, shame and isolation caused by sexual abuse and pursue justice and healing. Under this new law, survivors of child sexual abuse have three years take legal action against their abusers and the institutions that may have protected them – no matter the current age of the survivor, when the abuse occurred, or if the perpetrator is alive or dead. But this window is only open for three years.
