Harold Whittet: Substantiated Claims of Sexual Abuse of a Minor

Ordained in 1940, Father Harold Whittet’s name was publicly released on February 11, 2015, as one of seventeen names of priests who have been accused of sexual abuse or misconduct with a minor in the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis. Fr. Whittet was named in a notice of claim that was submitted to the Archdiocese and its insurance carriers.

Father Whittet worked in several parishes throughout the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis before retiring in 1977.

Father Harold Whittet worked in the following parishes:

  • 1941-1943: Associate pastor, St. Augustine’s, South Saint Paul
  • 1944-1946: Chaplain with U.S. Army
  • 1947-1968: Pastor, St. John Vianney, South Saint Paul
  • 1969-1976: Pastor, St. Rose of Lima, Roseville
  • 1977: Retired
  • 1989: Dead
