Cardinal Mahony and Archdiocese Concealed Baker’s Abuse from Parishioners, Public and Law Enforcement for Several Years

(Los Angeles, CA) – At a press conference today in Los Angeles, the law firm of Jeff Anderson & Associates will:

  • Discuss a lawsuit filed by a courageous survivor against the Archdiocese of Los Angeles for sexual abuse as a minor by former priest Fr. Michael Stephen Baker, one of the Archdiocese’s most prolific and notorious child sexual abusers.
  • The Plaintiff was sexually abused by Fr. Baker in approximately 1990–1991 while Baker was at St. Elisabeth’s in Van Nuys, California;
  • Discuss and reveal how Cardinal Roger Mahony and Church officials allowed Baker to remain in ministry despite knowing of Baker’s history of sexually abusing children;
  • Demand that the Archdiocese of Los Angeles publicly disclose and produce the identities and files of all clergy abusers and stop concealing the sexual abuse of minors by clergy.
