One of the Survivors Speaks Publicly for the First Time

(Saint Paul, MN) – At a news conference on Tuesday in St. Paul attorney Jeff Anderson:
  • Announced a civil lawsuit naming the Children’s Theatre Company, John Clark Donahue, and another former employee as defendants. The lawsuit was brought on behalf of two sexual abuse survivors, one abused in approximately 1977 and the other abused in approximately 1983. One of the survivors will speak publicly at the press conference tomorrow, using her name and telling her story.
  • Discussed the culture created by John Clark Donahue in the 1970s and 1980s. During this timeframe, numerous children were sexually abused, and only a small part of the story became public.
  • Encourages other survivors of sexual abuse to come forward safely and confidentially before the Child Victims Act window legislation expires on May 25, 2016.
