Alfred Gallant: Archdiocesan Clergy Credibly Accused of Sexual Abuse of a Minor

Alfred Gallant

In 2002, Fr. Alfred Gallant of the Archdiocese of New York was accused of child sexual abuse. He was removed from ministry by the Archdiocese of New York. In 2005, Fr. Gallant was sentenced to a life of prayer and penance by the Vatican. As of 2005, he had not been laicized.

Fr. Alfred Gallant was ordained in 1962 and worked at parishes in Pine Bush, Staten Island, Newburgh, Millbrook, Monticello, Ossining, and Livingston Manor, NY. He is the brother of Fr. John Gallant, who is also an accused abuser.
