Fr. John Downs was ordained a priest in the Diocese of Ogdensburg. In 2019, Fr. John Downs was named in a lawsuit filed under New York’s Child Victims Act. The lawsuit accused Fr. Downs of sexually abusing a minor in approximately 1994 to 1995, while Fr. Downs was working at St. Joseph Church in Massena, New York.
