Richard Gross
On April 15, 2016, Fr. Richard Gross was named in a lawsuit filed by sexual abuse survivor Doe 62. Fr. Gross sexually abused Doe 62 in the mid-1960s at St. Mary’s parish in New Ulm. Doe 62’s lawsuit was brought under the Minnesota Child Victims Act, a law passed in 2013 allowing survivors of child sexual abuse to file cases against their perpetrators and any institution that may have covered up the abuse.
Fr. Richard Gross was ordained in 1962 in the Diocese of New Ulm and worked in parishes in New Ulm, Taunton, Rosen, Hutchinson and Watkins during his clerical career.

- 1962: Associate, St. James, Nassau
- 1962-1967: Associate, St. Mary, New Ulm, with teaching duties at Cathedral High School, New Ulm
- 1967-1970: Pastor of Ss. Cyril & Methodius, Taunton
- 1970-1972: Co-rector of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, New Ulm
- 1972: Graduate studies
- 1972-1980: Pastor, St. Joseph, Rosen and St. James, Nassau
- 1980-1987: Co-pastor, St. Mary, New Ulm
- 1987: Parish ministry in Alaska
- 1987-1995: Co-pastor of St. Anastasia, Hutchinson
- 1987-1990: Administrator, St. Boniface, Stewart
- 1991-1995: Sacramental minister, St. Boniface, Stewart
- 1995-2001: Pastor, St. Anthony, Watkins
- 2001: Served in mission in Barrow, Alaska & mission parishes on the Yukon at Holy Cross and Galena Church. Summer pastor at St. John Neumann Church, Cooper Landing.
Fr. Gross retired from assigned ministry in 2001.
