Fr. Adrainus Johannes Willemsen was ordained a priest for the Congregation of the Mission, commonly known as the Vincentians, in the Netherlands. In 1982, Fr. Willemsen was incardinated in the Diocese of Austin. While working in Bremond, Fr. Willemsen reportedly abused at least one minor boy. Fr. Willemsen was purportedly allowed to return to the Netherlands in 1989, where he worked as pastor in parishes in the villages of Steensel and Duizel. Fr. Willemsen was reportedly removed from ministry in 2004. Fr. Willemsen was named on the 2019 “Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston Clergy Disclosure List” in the subsection “Religious Order Priests.” Fr. Willemsen is also named on the Diocese of Austin’s 2019 “[l]ist of clergy and religious who have been credibly accused of committing sexual abuse against a minor.” According to the Diocese of Austin’s list, Fr. Willemsen held a presence in Denver, Colorado. Fr. Willemsen’s status as a priest, his whereabouts, and whether he had access to children from 1999 until his death in 2012 are unknown.
