Br. Benedict Joseph Kelly was a member of the Brothers of St. Francis Xavier. He joined the Congregation in 1933. In 2019, Br. Kelly was included in the Xaverian Brothers’ list of “Deceased or former Xaverian Brothers with an allegation of an offense against a minor (anyone under the age of 18) that could not be fully investigated to determine credibility, but for which there is a reasonable possibility (semblance of truth) that the alleged offense occurred.” According to this list, a report was made in 1995 alleging that Br. Kelly sexually abused at least one minor in approximately 1945 in Baltimore, Maryland. From 1973 to 1976, Br. Kelly was reported to be in nursing care in Baltimore, Maryland. His status as a brother and access to children from 1968 until his death are unknown
