Fr. James R. Calhoun was removed from ministry in 1993. He was named in a 1994 lawsuit alleging sexual abuse of a teenager in approximately 1980. In 2018, Fr. Calhoun was included on the Diocese of Belleville’s list of “Clergy who are Currently Removed from Ministry after Credibly Substantiated Allegations of Sexual Abuse of Minors, or Serious Sexual Misconduct with Adults.” Fr. Calhoun’s whereabouts and whether he had access to children from 1994 until his death are unknown.
