Fr. David Joseph Clark was ordained a Claretian priest. In a 1994 lawsuit, Fr. Clark was accused of sexually abusing two brothers while at Sacred Heart in Prescott, Arizona. Fr. Clark was included on the Diocese of Gallup’s “List of priests, religious and other persons who have been credibly accused of sexual abuse of minors and who have served in parishes or institutions of the church located within the territorial limits of the Diocese of Gallup.” Fr. Clark was also included on the Archdiocese of Santa Fe’s “List of Priests, Deacons, & Religious Accused of Sexual Abuse of Children” as well as the Diocese of Baton Rouge’s list of “The individuals identified below have been the subject of credible allegations of sexual abuse of one or more minors or vulnerable adults which allegedly occurred within the Diocese of Baton Rouge after its formation in 1961.” According to this list, a report was made in 2018 alleging that Fr. Clark sexually abused a minor or a vulnerable adult between approximately 1964 and 1965 at St. Thomas More in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This list also states that Fr. Clark worked at five different parishes in the Diocese of Baton Rouge between 1954 and 1965. The exact dates that he worked at these parishes are unknown.
