Notes: According to the Archdiocese of Los Angeles at least one survivor has come forward alleging child sexual abuse by Fr. Carl D. Tresler. The Archdiocese removed Fr. Tresler from ministry in 1998 after receiving an allegation of child sexual abuse against him. It is believed Fr. Tresler moved to Huancavelica, Peru and began pastoral work for the Peruvian diocese following his removal. In 2005, Cardinal Mahony stated that, if he had it to do over again, he would ask the Vatican to laicize Fr. Tresler before losing standing to do so. Fr. Tresler was included in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ list of priests accused of sexual misconduct involving minors. Fr. Tresler’s current status as a priest, his whereabouts, and whether he has access to children are unknown.
