Br. Douglas Zlatis was a member of the Irish Christian Brothers. In 1985, Br. Zlatis is alleged to have sexually abused a minor student at Damien Memorial High School in Honolulu, Hawaii. In 2014, a civil lawsuit was filed alleging child sexual abuse by Br. Zlatis. In 2016, Br. Zlatis was named in another lawsuit in Hawaii. The plaintiff alleged Br. Zlatis sexually abused him in approximately 1982 when he was a student at Damien Memorial High School. It is believed that Br. Zlatis remained in ministry without restriction until he died in 2009.
