Notes: At least one survivor has come forward alleging child sexual abuse by Fr. Simon, from 1963 to 1967, while he worked at St. Benedict’s in Montebello, California. In 2002, the survivor wrote a letter to Cardinal Roger Mahony detailing the alleged child sexual abuse by Fr. Simon and others at St. Benedict’s. This letter was kept in Fr. Mathias Faue’s personnel file which was not released to the public until 2013. Prior to his death, it is believed Fr. Simon was living in Oklahoma. Fr. Simon’s status as a priest and whether he had access to children from 1972 until his death are unknown.
