Fr. James O’Grady was ordained in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, where he worked in several parishes. In 1997, a former altar girl alleged that Fr. O’Grady had sexually abused her as a child and law enforcement investigated her claim. In 2001, it is believed that Fr. O’Grady retired to Louisburgh, Ireland. His current whereabouts and whether he had access to children from 2001 until his death are unknown.
