Joseph C. Cashman: Accused of Sexual Approaches

Joseph C. Cashman

 

Father Joseph C. Cashman was ordained May 31, 1960 and subsequently worked in parishes throughout southern Minnesota before his ministerial privileges were suspended in September, 1992. Father Cashman’s name was released on December 16, 2013 as part of a court ordered disclosure requiring the Diocese of Winona to publicly name priests with credible accusations of child sexual abuse who were named in the 2004 John Jay Charter Study.

According to the documents filed in court on December 16, 2013 by the Diocese of Winona, Father Joseph Cashman was assigned to the following parishes:

· August 20, 1963 – Lourdes High School, Rochester, MN

· July 1, 1967 – Loyola High School, Mankato, MN

· July 1, 1967 – Saint Margaret, Good Thunder, MN

· June 24, 1970 – Lourdes High School, Rochester, MN

· June 24, 1970 – Saint Margaret, Mantorville, MN

· July 1, 1977 – Saint John the Baptist, Mankato, MN

· July 2, 1985 – Saint Mary, Caledonia, MN

· Ministerial Status: Ministerial privileges suspended September, 1992; laicization pending in Canonical Tribunal.
