In March 2006, Fr. William R. Logan, was suspended from ministry pending an investigation into accusations of child sexual abuse. Fr. Logan worked at St. Lawrence the Martyr in Sayville, New York when he allegedly sexually abused a young girl in approximately the early 1970s. He also allegedly abused another young girl while he worked at St. James in Seaford, New York in approximately the early 1980s. A parent at St. James Parish allegedly reported “inappropriate” behavior by Fr. Logan to Bishop Daly in approximately the 1980s, but no action was taken. In September 2006, Fr. Logan was reinstated after a review board found the allegations made against him were unsubstantiated. In February 2007, a third woman accused Fr. Logan of sexually abusing her as a child. The third survivor alleged abuse by Fr. Logan during his time at St. Lawrence the Martyr in Sayville, New York.

Fr. William R. Logan is believed to be residing in Long Beach, New York. The Long Island Catholic website listed Fr. Logan as a retired priest effective as of June 25, 2014.
