Fr. John J. Fitzgerald was a member of the Congregation of the Holy Cross. In 2019, Fr. Fitzgerald was included in the Congregation of the Holy Cross’ “List of Those Credibly Accused of Sexual Abuse of a Minor.” According to this list, a report was made in 1992 alleging that Fr. Fitzgerald sexually abused a minor in or about the 1970s in Illinois. This list also states that Fr. Fitzgerald was removed from ministry in approximately 1992 and reportedly left the Congregation of the Holy Cross in approximately 1997. Fr. Fitzgerald is believed to be living in San Francisco, California. His current status as a priest and whether he has access to children are unknown
