Fr. Andrew A. Burke: Accused of Sexual Misconduct

Fr. Andrew Burke was ordained a priest in the Diocese of Pueblo. In 1973, Fr. Burke purportedly left the priesthood due to a “psychosexual behavior disorder.” He was subsequently laicized. In 2004, Fr. Burke was accused of sexually abusing a minor altar server in the early 1970s. Two additional survivors reported being sexually abused as minor children by Fr. Burke in the 1970s at St. Pius X in Pueblo, Colorado in 2005. That same year, Fr. Burke committed suicide following the multiple allegations of child sexual abuse against him. Fr. Burke’s whereabouts and whether he had access to children from 1973 until his death in 2005 are unknown.
