Br. Benignus Scarry is a former member of the Capuchin Franciscan Friars. Sometime in the 1980s, Br. Scarry was alleged to have sexually abused a minor. In approximately 2016, Br. Scarry left the Capuchin Franciscan Friars religious order. Br. Scarry was included in the 2019 “Audit of the Capuchin Province of Mid-America (aka Province of St. Conrad)” in the subsection of members “found to have had credible allegations of sexually inappropriate/criminal behaviors against minors or vulnerable adults” in the subsection of “minors.” Reportedly, Br. Scarry also worked at St. Joseph Friary in Hays, Kansas, and St. Francis of Assisi Friary in Denver, Colorado. Br. Scarry’s current whereabouts and whether he has access to children are unknown.
