Fr. Neil C. Hewitt: Substantiated Claims of Sexual Abuse of a Minor

Fr. Neil Hewitt was ordained a priest in the Archdiocese of Denver. Fr. Hewitt was included in the Colorado Attorney General’s Special Master’s Report on “Roman Catholic Clergy Sexual Abuse of Children in Colorado from 1950 to 2019.” According to the Special Master’s Report, Fr. Hewitt sexually abused a minimum of 8 children in 4 different parishes while working in Denver, Colorado. Fr. Hewitt allegedly sexually abused 2 boys sometime between 1962 and 1965 when he was assigned to St. Anthony Parish in Sterling, Colorado. It is reported that Fr. Hewitt left the priesthood in 1980 and got married. Fr. Hewitt is believed to be residing in Arizona. His current whereabouts, status as priest, and whether he has access to children are unknown.
