In 1968, Fr. Leonard Paul Kmak resigned from the priesthood to marry, resulting in his laicization in 1969. In a 2005 lawsuit, Fr. Kmak was accused of child sexual abuse that allegedly occurred in 1962 at St. Fidelis in Chicago. Fr. Kmak is included on the Archdiocese of Chicago’s list of Archdiocesan Priests with Substantiated Allegations of Sexual Misconduct with Minors. Fr.
