Fr. Edward McGrath was ordained a priest of the Salesians of Don Bosco. He taught briefly at Salesian High School in New Rochelle, New York, before his assignment to St. Thomas More School in Montville, Connecticut. The first allegation of sexual misconduct involving a minor against Fr. McGrath arose at St. Thomas More in 2000. The school investigated and sent letters to alumni and parents regarding the accusation. The allegations were deemed credible, and a short time later another accuser came forward. Fr. McGrath is believed to have died in 1998. He was named to the
Diocese of Norwich’s 2019 “List of Clergy with Allegations of Substance of Sexual Abuse of a Minor.”
