Fr. Rocco Perone is accused of sexually abusing more than ten minor boys between approximately 1951 and 1988 in Oregon, Wyoming and Texas. In the 1980s, Fr. Perone was reportedly sent to St. Luke Institute, an institution known for treating priests accused of child sexual abuse. It is reported that Fr. Perone was sued in 2001 and 2002 following multiple allegations of abuse. In April 2019, the Diocese of Beaumont added Fr. Perone to its list of “Names of Clergy with Credible Allegations” under the subsection “Served in this diocese and has credible allegations elsewhere”, and the Diocese of
Cheyenne’s 2019 list of “Clergy with Substantiated Allegations.”
