Fr. Michael Salerno began his career as a Brother in the Society of the Catholic Apostolate and later ordained a priest of the Society of the Catholic Apostolate. Fr. Salerno was placed on leave in November 2007 by the Archdiocese of Baltimore after accusations surfaced that he had sexually abused a minor boy in Brooklyn in the mid- to late 1970s when he worked at All Saints in Brooklyn, New York. At the time of the alleged abuse, Salerno had not yet been ordained a priest. He is purported to have also worked at Queen of the Apostles in Sag Harbor, New York; Our Lady of the Rosary of Pompeii in Brooklyn, New York; Bishop Eustace Preparatory School in Pennsauken, New Jersey; and at My Brothers’ Place in Brooklyn, New York, while
he was a brother. The Pallottine Order announced in December 2008 that Fr. Salerno had admitted to the sexual abuse of a minor boy and as such, was reportedly removed from ministry in December 2008. Fr. Salerno’s current whereabouts, status as a priest, and whether he has access to children are unknown.
