Fr. Michael P. Santillo served at various parishes throughout the Diocese of Metuchen and Trenton. In 1997, Fr. Santillo was charged with molesting a 13-year-old altar boy and showing pornography to young boys. At the time of his arrest, Fr. Santillo was working in the Diocese of Albany at St. John the Evangelist in Schenectady. Fr. Santillo was working as the Associate for Administration at the church. In 1999, Santillo pleaded guilty to assaulting one minor, while three additional allegations were dismissed due to the statute of limitations. Three of these claims were included in a 2003 diocesan settlement. While serving a 10 year sentence, Santillo died in prison
