Sexual Abuse Survivor’s Group Cries Foul

(St. Paul) At a news conference in front of the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis, the Survivor’s Network of those Abused by Priests (SNAP), objected to the legal maneuver by the Archdiocese in seeking legal costs from a survivor of sexual abuse who demanded that the Archdiocese reveal its infamous list of known sexual predators.

At the news conference, SNAP President, David Clohessy cried foul at the Archdiocese for seeking legal costs in a case that was dismissed by a Ramsey County judge. According to Clohessy, this is the first time that the Archdiocese has sought such a cost award. Despite claims to the contrary by the Archdiocese, Clohessy believes that this “unprecedented step” is aimed to punish this victim for trying to expose the names of other predator
priests.  In addition, Clohessy added that the Archbishop also wants to scare other victims into staying silent.
