Law Firm Forced to Return 1,538 Perversion Files that Boy Scouts Refuse to Publicly Release

Boy Scouts of America Refuses to Release the 1,538 Names and Files

(St. Paul, MN) – Today at 11 AM in St. Paul, attorney Jeff Anderson and his firm will:

  • Load a truck with 1,538 Boy Scout Perversion files and deliver them to local counsel for Boy Scouts of America (BSA) pursuant to a court order denying the public release of the files and requiring Anderson to return the files to BSA;
  • Ramsey County District Court denied a request to make the files public. Anderson respects the court’s decision but believes BSA should release the files voluntarily to protect children;
  • Anderson and his firm, representing a survivor of childhood sexual abuse by a Minnesota scoutmaster, sought the public release of the 1,538 Perversion Files in Ramsey County District Court. The files were produced by BSA under seal, not to be released publicly. Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison filed a brief supporting the release of the files. Last week, a Ramsey County District Court judge denied Anderson’s request to order BSA to publicly release the files and ordered Anderson to return the files to BSA;
  • Discuss and reveal that in January 2019, defense expert Dr. Janet Warren testified in a Hennepin County trial involving The Children’s Theatre Company that she was hired by BSA to review all BSA Ineligible Volunteer files (which include Perversion Files) from 1944-2016. Her review revealed an astounding 7,819 Boy Scout sexual misconduct perpetrators and 12,254 victims from 1944-2016. It is unknown how many of the 7,819 perpetrators BSA has disclosed publicly.
