Committee of Abuse Survivors in the Diocese of Buffalo Bankruptcy Case to Speak Publicly Monday

(Buffalo, NY) – On Monday, June 15th, 2026, at 10:30AM ET, the volunteer members of the Unsecured Creditors’ Committee who were selected by the United States Trustee to represent all sexual abuse survivors in the Diocese of Buffalo bankruptcy case will:

  • Address the status of the Chapter 11 bankruptcy case and why the proposed reorganization plan is the best path forward for survivors, the Diocese and its parishes;
  • Discuss their experiences as volunteer committee members representing the interests of over 850 sexual abuse survivors in the Diocese of Buffalo; and
  • Speak to the importance of child protection measures to safeguard children in the Diocese of Buffalo

This will be the first time that members of the Committee will speak publicly. They have been negotiating for over six years under a court ordered mediation privilege which prevented them from speaking about the case until now.
