New claim says Church covered-up sexual rampage of Brother Raimond Rose for over 40 years

Former Christian Brother at Stevens Point Pacelli faces 21st lawsuit for sexual abuse of students

New claim says Church covered-up sexual rampage of
Brother Raimond Rose for over 40 years

(St. Paul) A lawsuit filed in Portage County Wisconsin Circuit Court claims Christian Brother Raimond Rose was on a sexual rampage that included at least twenty-one minor student victims at 7 schools in 4 states—including Pacelli in Stevens Point; De La Salle High School in Minneapolis, Minnesota; Shanley High School in Fargo, North Dakota; and De La Salle High School in Concord, California.

Patrick Noaker, an attorney with the St. Paul, Minnesota-based Jeff Anderson and Associates, said the current lawsuit on behalf of a Wisconsin man and a former student of Rose’s at Pacelli High school in Stevens Point, charges the Christian Brother religious order with knowing of Rose’s molesting history but moving him from assignment to assignment without regard for the danger presented to children under his supervision.

The student asserts specifically that Illinois-based Provinicial Brother Frances Carr, F.S.C., as well as other leaders of the order, assigned Rose to Stevens Point Pacelli while knowing that he had sexually abused a student at a prior assignment.

“The sexual abused this man suffered at the hands of Rose on more than one occasion between 1969 and 1970 didn’t have to happen,” Noaker said.  “Indeed,” he added, “but for the careless disregard for the safety of children by the Christian Brothers order, my client would not have suffered a lifetime of pain, suffering and emotional distress.”
