Former School Official Attempts to Silence Survivor After Disclosing Years of Sexual Abuse
Attorneys Announce 11 New Lawsuits Filed Under New Jersey’s Victims’ Rights Bill
Press Conference: Wednesday, October 13 at 11:00 a.m. ET
(Newark, N.J.) At a press conference, an abuse survivor will speak publicly about attempts made by the Xaverian Brothers to silence and retraumatize him after disclosing the abuse he suffered and bringing a lawsuit. Attorneys from the law firm of Jeff Anderson & Associates and Gianforcaro Law will also discuss the following:
- Reveal that the survivor informed former St. Joseph Regional High School Vice-Principal after he was sexually abused by Br. Peter Russel, C.F.X. and Br. John H. Dagwell, C.F.X., which resulted in the survivor being physically assaulted in hopes it would silence the survivor.
- Disclose that the Xaverian Brothers refuse to provide financial support for counseling to the survivor because his pending case is in litigation.
- Announce 11 new lawsuits filed under the New Jersey Victims’ Rights Bill, including another lawsuit naming Br. John Dagwell, C.F.X. as an abuser.
- Inform all survivors of sexual abuse in New Jersey that they must file a lawsuit under the New Jersey Victims’ Rights Bill by November 30, 2021. Survivors still have rights, but time is limited.
