Press Conference: Diocese of Rockville Centre Files for Chapter 11—Virtual Press Conference Today

Attorney Jeff Anderson to Address Diocese’s Decision to Put Self-Interest Before Public Safety

(New York, NY) – Today, over a live moderated virtual press conference, attorney Jeff Anderson will:

  • Discuss the Diocese of Rockville Centre’s decision to file for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy protection.
  • Discuss how the New York Catholic Bishops have repeatedly used the Diocese of Rockville Centre as a battleground to protect predator priests and those who protected them, while intimidating child sexual abuse survivors and attempting to strip them of their rights provided under the New York Child Victims Act.
  • Demand that Bishop John O. Barres release the names of all clergy accused of sexual misconduct and the identities of all Church officials, past and present, in the Diocese of Rockville Centre who were complicit in concealing the known histories and identities from the public, parishioners and law enforcement.
