At a news conference in Minneapolis, attorneys Jeff Anderson and Mike Finnegan responded to the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis’ amended bankruptcy reorganization plan, criticizing it as unfair and misleading to survivors. They stated that the plan proposed only a very small contribution from archdiocese assets while relying heavily on insurance funds, and argued that it significantly undervalued the archdiocese’s ability to compensate survivors fairly.

The attorneys also said the amended plan did not meet the archdiocese’s public pledge to be transparent and accountable during the bankruptcy process. They called for greater transparency regarding assets and insurance coverage and urged the archdiocese to revise the plan to more fairly compensate survivors and uphold its commitments made during the bankruptcy proceedings.
