Press Conference: Vatican Lets Fugitive Predator Priest Supervise Schools in India

Priest Charged With the Rape of Two Young Girls in the United States in 2004 and 2005

American Bishop Repeatedly Pleas for Help From Cardinal William Levada in Rome

(Saint Paul, MN) – Prominent clergy sex abuse attorneys Jeff Anderson and Mike Finnegan will disclose and discuss documents that show a top Vatican official taking virtually no action against a fugitive predator priest. Father Joseph Jeyapaul, who has been criminally charged with molesting young girls, is facing extradition to Roseau County, Minnesota, and facing a civil lawsuit.  In spite of all this, he apparently has been promoted to oversee dozens of parochial schools in the Diocese of Ootacamund in India.

Documents and once-secret church records concerning this case and correspondence between a Minnesota bishop and the Vatican after Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger had become Pope Benedict XVI will be available at the press conference and from AndersonAdvocates.com.

To protect children from the risk of harm Anderson and Finnegan will demand Catholic authorities in the US, Rome, and India suspend Father Jeyapaul immediately and do everything possible to get him returned to the US to face prosecution.

According to a diocesan website, Jeyapaul is currently assigned to the Diocese of Ootacaumund which lists his current address and phone number as:

Bishop’s House
P.B.No. 5
