New Law Allows More Time for Survivors to Come Forward, Expose Abusers, and Stop the Cover-up
- Release a new report containing the identities, histories and background information on dozens of priests and clerics accused of child sexual abuse in the Diocese of Honolulu;
- Show how high ranking church officials knew that Bishop Joseph Ferrario had sexually molested children before he became a bishop and how Hawaii was a “dumping ground” for sexually abusive clerics from all over the world;
- Explain how a local psychiatrist, Dr. Robert Browne, named in numerous child sex abuse lawsuits at Kamehameha Schools, was assigned to treat sexually abusive priests in the Diocese of Honolulu and recommended predatory clerics return to ministry;
- Encourage sexual abuse survivors to come forward safely and confidentially under Hawaii’s new law.
