Lawsuit Filed on Behalf of Four Survivors Abused by Cardinal McCarrick and in Response to Vatican Report
Jeff Anderson, Survivors Invite Pope Francis and his Attorney Jeff Lena, who prepared the report, to a process of transparency and healing
Virtual Press Conference Thursday at 11 AM CT
(New Jersey/Saint Paul, MN) – Today over a live moderated virtual press conference, attorneys Jeff Anderson and survivor John Bellocchio will:
- Announce a federal lawsuit against the Vatican (Holy See) in an attempt to force transparency and truth long-hidden. Jeff Anderson, an attorney who represents sexual abuse survivors, has filed three previous cases against the Vatican.
- Invite Pope Francis and his attorney Jeff Lena, who conducted the investigation and issued the Vatican report on McCarrick, to immediately pursue transparency and healing.
- John Bellocchio, a survivor of abuse by McCarrick, and Anderson will call upon the Vatican to take bold and brave new steps together, to bring hope, healing and truth.
A moderated Q&A will immediately follow.

Format
The press conference will take place over a secure Zoom conference call, and will be filmed live in our Saint Paul office. Attendees will be on mute upon arrival but will be able to submit questions through Zoom chat. Alternatively, attendees can wait until the conclusion of the presentation to ask questions directly over Zoom.
