It’s Time For Truth
It’s time for your voice to be heard. It’s time to hold institutions accountable for covering up decades of sexual abuse. It’s your time. If you are a survivor of child sexual abuse in Arizona, a new law gives you the chance to expose your offender and pursue justice publicly or anonymously, as a John or Jane Doe. This includes abuse committed by:
A priest or other member of the clergy
A Boy Scout leader, Scoutmaster, or other BSA volunteer
A teacher, coach, or other authority figure
It’s time for healing. It’s time to reclaim some of your power. It’s time for you to share what happened to you to help prevent similar abuse from happening to others.
It’s Time To Take Your Power Back
On May 27, 2019, Governor Doug Ducey signed into law Arizona’s own victims’ rights bill (HB2466, aka The Arizona Child Victims Act). In so doing, Arizona joined the ranks of New York, New Jersey, and a growing number of other states with Child Victims Acts that effectively reform the statute of limitations for child sexual abuse survivors and open new roads to healing, justice, and accountability.
A historic step forward for child protection, the Arizona Child Victims Act:
- Extends the age limit to bring a claim against a perpetrator by 12 years, from the current age of 20 to the new age of 30
- Opens a temporary window for survivors older than 30 to file civil claims against their perpetrators and the institutions that protected them, no matter when the abuse occurred.
- Takes effect as of signing (May 27, 2019), with the temporary window remaining open until December 31, 2020 for survivors older than 30.
All claims under the Arizona Child Victims Act must be filed by December 31, 2020. Time is limited. Contact us confidentially today.
It’s Time For The Abuse Of Children To Stop
One of the nation’s premier law firms representing survivors of child sexual abuse by Catholic clergy and other institutions for 37+ years, Jeff Anderson and Associates has represented and advocated for thousands of victims of childhood sexual abuse. In early 2019, we partnered with Phoenix child sexual abuse attorney and survivor advocate Robert E. Pastor – who, like us, has been working in this space for more than three decades – to ensure that we put the greatest Phoenix knowledge, experience, passion, and tenacity to work for survivors of sexual abuse.
Our firm pioneered the use of civil litigation to seek justice for survivors of child sexual abuse and has tirelessly fought for survivor rights, for the disclosure of secret perpetrator identities and files held by offending institutions, and for a safer world for our children. We have a reputation for being the best at what we do, and that begins and ends with our ability to support, protect, and guide survivors along their journey towards justice and healing.
You are not alone. We are here to help.
It’s time for justice. It’s time to bring the truth out into the light. It’s time for accountability and healing. Before making a decision concerning such serious and sensitive matters, we encourage all survivors of priest sexual abuse to consult with legal counsel before proceeding with a claim the Roman Catholic Diocese of Phoenix, the Boy Scouts of America, or any other institution.
