Childhood Sexual Abuse Survivor Richard Covin and Breck School Reach Settlement

(Minneapolis, MN) – Breck School and Richard Covin have reached a settlement of all claims in the matter relating to the actions of William Jacobs while employed by the school in the early 1970s.  The parties have come together in this settlement to acknowledge the seriousness of the harm done by sexual abuse, and to acknowledge that Breck and its Board have implemented and executed a range of policies, actions and protocols to protect students and advance their development.  Officials at Breck School wish to extend an apology for the harm done to Richard Covin and any other youth resulting from the actions of William Jacobs.  The settlement was reached with the help of former Minnesota Supreme Court Justice James Gilbert under the supervision of Hennepin County Judge Susan Burke.
