In 2013, the State of Minnesota enacted the Child Victims Act—a law that allowed victims of child sexual abuse a three-year window to file a civil action, even if they had previously been told they could not due to the statute of limitations. This unique opportunity for survivors to pursue hope, healing, and justice was available for only three years and expired on May 25, 2016.
