Jul 19, 2013: Media Advisory: Boy Scouts, Former Troop Leader, Named in Rochester Lawsuit

At a news conference on Monday in Rochester, prominent sexual abuse attorney Jeff Anderson will announce the filing of the first civil lawsuit involving the Boy Scouts of America filed under the new Minnesota law eliminating the civil statute of limitations for children who are sexually abused and allowing a 3-year window for past victims of childhood sexual abuse to file lawsuits against their perpetrator and/or an institution that may have allowed the abuse. The lawsuit, filed on behalf of two former Boy Scouts Doe 8 and Doe 9, were members of Troop 210, will name the Boy Scouts of America, Gamehaven Council, Inc., St. Pius X Catholic Church, troop sponsor, and former troop leader and convicted child molester Richard Hokanson, as defendants.

who has never been publicly named. Reveal confidential Archdiocesan communications pertaining to this
victim’s alleged perpetrator and complaints made by the victim’s parents
in 1966 about the priest examining their children’s sexual organs, and
how the Archdiocese failed to remove him from ministry, thus exposing
other children and communities to potential harm.

At a news conference on Wednesday in Duluth, prominent clergy abuse attorney Mike Finnegan will announce the first civil lawsuit to be filed in St. Louis County under a new Minnesota law signed by Governor Dayton last month eliminating the civil statute of limitations for children who were sexually abused and allowing a 3-year window for past victims of childhood sexual abuse to file lawsuits against their perpetrator and/or an institution that may have allowed the abuse. Jun 13, 2012: Press Event: Second Lawsuit to be Filed Against Priest Who Fled to India After Being Accused of Sexually Assaulting Two Teenage Girls

At a press conference on Thursday in St. Paul,
clergy abuse attorney Jeff Anderson will announce a new lawsuit filed against
the Diocese of Crookston and involving the sexual abuse in 2005 of a teenage girl
by a priest on loan from India.  The
priest, Reverend Joseph Jeyapaul,
who was also charged criminally by Roseau County authorities, fled the diocese
prior to the charges being filed and returned to India where he was recently
arrested as a fugitive from justice.
