Diocese of Santa Rosa

In a December 2003 newsletter to parishioners, Diocese of Santa Rosa Bishop Daniel Walsh said that 16 of the 410 priests working in the Diocese since 1962 had been involved in sexual misconduct with minors. A total of 59 children were sexually abused and an additional 10 victims came forward under the 2003 one-year legislative window.

Priests with public allegations of child sexual abuse in the Diocese of Santa Rosa include Fr. Gary Timmons, Fr. Don Kimball and Fr. Austin Peter Keegan who were all laicized. Frs. John Rogers, Vincent O’Neill and Patrick Gleeson are deceased.

Clergy accused of child sexual abuse in the Diocese of Santa Rosa

The list below contain the names of clergy who were assigned within or working in the California Diocese of Santa Rosa who have been accused of sexual misconduct. While lawsuits were filed involving many of these alleged perpetrators, the vast majority of the claims against these individuals have been settled or have not been fully evaluated in a civil or criminal court. Accordingly, the allegations should be considered just allegations and should not be considered proved or substantiated in a court of law.

All individuals should be considered innocent until proven guilty. In some situations, the statute of limitations has expired preventing cases from being heard in a court of law.
